“Super-fit Team Stewart” was what I read on the front page of the Dundee Courier this morning and I have to admit I am really pleased not just for myself but for my whole team. I am pleased to report a second consecutive win in 4:20.7 and even more pleased that Jen managed second place with a PB of 4:55.11 proving that despite what she often says she is not getting less and less fit and PBs are still possible working 8:30-5:30 as a Dentist!
I am also delighted with the progress of the rest of my Team who did brilliantly especially those gearing up for the championship race at the Highland warrior or Challenge Barcellona who were carrying some fatigue.
Well done everyone, you continue to inspire me!

As the article inside goes on to say I was pleased just to finish this race after breaking my hand and arm in May meant I had been really unable to train. Even now I am still struggling with bike handling and only rode outside 3 times since May, not on the hills or with the aero wheels so it was challenging on Saturday to say the least.
I find after a bad accident or a crisis there is an initial survival mechanism which results in an initial positivity. In the weeks and months that follow however is can become very hard to stay positive and motivated and I have struggled to come back which makes this more pleasing.
It has been noted that my time was faster than Stephen Sheldrakes time of 4:25 back in 2004 when the run course took a flater route out along the end on the bike course so this is now definitely the course record for now!
Thanks to Kenny Girvan for putting these pictures on facebook.
